iMessage API integration guides
Beam provides an API, signed event webhooks and MCP access for business messaging. Start with an authorized workspace, test a complete send and reply, and verify delivery separately from request acceptance.
Start with the Beam iMessage API, then use these articles to test the details of your client workflow.
Connect messages and replies
- GoHighLevel SMS API: Test the Reply Round Trip
Test an incoming GoHighLevel text, external API response and reply in the same conversation with a correlation ledger and Beam workflow checks.
- Keeping Device Texts Inside GoHighLevel Conversations
Keep a GoHighLevel conversation thread whole by lining up contact matching, message order, attachments, and status events when syncing device texts.
Handle agents and attachments
- Pause AI Text Replies When a Staff Member Takes Over
Set clear ownership for AI text conversations, pause each assistant during staff takeover, and test safe resumption without changing customer opt-outs.
- Send Photos and PDFs Through GoHighLevel Messaging
Why GoHighLevel photos and PDFs arrive as links, plus an agency checklist for file types, messaging channels, recipient devices and CRM records.
Frequently asked questions
Is Beam an official Apple iMessage API?
No. Beam is independent messaging software and is not affiliated with Apple. It provides its own API for authorized business workspaces.
Does an accepted API request prove delivery?
No. A queued message is accepted for processing. Check its recorded delivery state and test the recipient reply path separately.
Can an external AI agent answer a conversation?
An authorized agent can use Beam API or compatible MCP access within its workspace permissions. Pause the built-in assistant before an external agent takes over.
Where is the API contract?
The public Beam documentation includes the OpenAPI contract, sending endpoints, event webhooks and signature verification guidance.
