For agencies and service businesses
RCS business messaging for your Android conversations
RCS means Rich Communication Services, a messaging standard that supports richer conversations than SMS. Beam uses RCS for Android recipients where the phone and carrier support it, with SMS fallback for other reachable recipients. Your agency can connect that messaging layer to GoHighLevel and check the actual delivery outcome.
Beam sends from dedicated business numbers. Beam is not affiliated with Apple.
What RCS business messaging means
GSMA describes RCS as Rich Communication Services, with capabilities beyond traditional SMS.
Google describes RCS for Business as business messaging with rich media, branding, read receipts, and a verified icon. Those are capabilities of Google's business messaging offering, not a promise that every RCS route exposes them.
Beam documents Android RCS where the recipient phone and carrier support it, plus iMessage and SMS fallback. Do not assume a verified brand profile, rich cards, or a Google RCS for Business agent is included in a Beam line. Confirm any required feature with the team.
Who this is for
For service businesses coordinating appointments and quote follow-ups, and agencies operating those conversations for GoHighLevel clients. Evaluate it when Android recipients are part of the same audience as iPhone customers.
It is not a fit for a requirement that every message arrive over RCS, or for a launch that assumes verified branded rich cards without confirming their availability.
How it works
- Set up a workspace. Assign the client team and a dedicated business line.
- Connect the CRM. For GoHighLevel, verify the client location and use the documented Custom Webhook workflow path.
- Test the conversation. Send to a test contact, reply from the phone, and confirm the CRM thread and delivery status.
- Check the handoff. Confirm a teammate can answer and that an opted-out contact cannot receive another send.
Follow the GoHighLevel setup guide and Beam API guide for the documented integration paths.
Plan for fallback and delivery uncertainty
Beam sends from Apple and Android devices and selects an available channel. Its API guide distinguishes queued, sent, delivered, and failed outcomes. SMS fallback after a confirmed iMessage failure is a workspace setting; an ambiguous update is not silently retried.
Test with Android and iPhone contacts you control. Inspect the channel and status, reply from each device, and verify the result in the CRM before promising channel coverage to a client.
One workflow for the client team
The offer is a dedicated business line, channel routing, a shared inbox, and a GoHighLevel connection. Read how iMessage fits a CRM workflow and the business messaging overview to plan the full customer conversation. No specific delivery or conversion outcome is guaranteed.

Questions before you connect
What does RCS stand for?
RCS stands for Rich Communication Services. It supports richer messaging experiences than SMS. Google describes its RCS for Business offering as including rich media, branding, read receipts, and a verified icon; feature availability depends on the implementation.
Does Beam include a verified RCS brand profile?
The Beam sources linked on this page document Android RCS where supported and SMS fallback. They do not establish that a verified RCS brand profile or rich-card campaign builder is included. Confirm that requirement before choosing a setup.
Does every recipient get a rich message?
No. Beam uses iMessage for eligible iPhones and RCS for Android recipients where the phone and carrier support it. Other reachable recipients use SMS fallback. Confirm channel behavior with your assigned line.
Does a queued status mean delivered?
No. A queued status means the request was accepted for paced sending. Use delivery events or message status to check the outcome. Beam does not silently resend or switch an uncertain iMessage delivery to SMS.
Can agencies rebill clients through Beam?
Clients pay Beam directly today. Agency rebilling and custom domains are not active. Each client can have a separate workspace with its own inbox, numbers, team, and API key.
Can we send without limits?
No. Beam paces new outbound-first conversations to protect line health. Confirm capacity and opt-out handling for your assigned lines before expanding a workflow.
