A2P 10DLC registration: understand the route before launch
A2P 10DLC registration identifies a business and its messaging campaign for application-to-person texts sent over US ten-digit local numbers. Beam lets agencies use iMessage and supported RCS for client conversations outside the SMS 10DLC route, while SMS fallback remains subject to applicable carrier requirements.
Beam sends from dedicated business numbers. Beam is not affiliated with Apple.
What registration covers
T-Mobile's messaging guidance says entities sending sanctioned 10DLC traffic must register before campaign delivery on its network. The Campaign Registry distinguishes business identity from the campaign use case and explains that providers and their connection partners review campaigns.
Start by identifying the business doing the messaging, the intended purpose and the numbers involved. Registration is not a general permission slip for every message, and it does not certify recipient consent.
Why an agency application can stall
A generic description can fail to explain what a particular client actually sends. TCR's campaign FAQ specifically warns that unclear descriptions can cause rejection and directs businesses to their registering provider for the rejection reason.
Compare the submitted sender, use case and opt-in process with the real client journey. Do not copy one agency campaign description across unrelated clients. Ask which stage needs correction before editing the application.

Where Beam changes the agency workflow
Beam sends iMessage from Apple devices and supported RCS from Android devices, connected to a business workspace and GoHighLevel. Agencies can evaluate those channels without making SMS registration the center of every client conversation. iMessage runs outside carrier A2P 10DLC; RCS is a distinct channel with its own support conditions, not a blanket exemption from provider rules.
Beam sends from real Apple and Android devices: iMessage for eligible iPhones, RCS for supported Android phones, and SMS fallback for other reachable recipients. SMS fallback remains subject to applicable carrier A2P requirements. After a confirmed failed iMessage, fallback is a workspace setting; uncertain delivery does not trigger an automatic resend.
Beam does not collect original marketing consent for you. Record permission, honor opt-outs and confirm the configuration of the assigned line. Read RCS support and fallback before deciding how to reach Android customers.
Choose a rollout path
- List the conversations your client actually needs and which recipients expect them.
- Confirm supported channels and the assigned line with Beam. Decide how to handle unsupported recipients and failed delivery.
- If SMS is needed, work with the provider on its registration requirements and verify readiness before sending.
- Test a conversation, reply and opt-out in the intended GoHighLevel location. Keep an agreed alternative contact method for urgent communication.

Questions before you connect
What is A2P 10DLC registration?
A2P 10DLC registration records a business identity and campaign use case for application-to-person messaging over US ten-digit local numbers. Work with your messaging provider to confirm campaign and number readiness.
Why do agency A2P campaigns get rejected?
An unclear campaign description can cause rejection. Ask the registering provider for the actual reason, then compare the application with the client's real identity, message purpose and opt-in journey before resubmitting.
Can Beam text clients without the A2P 10DLC headache?
Beam supports client conversations through iMessage and supported Android RCS instead of relying only on the SMS 10DLC route. SMS fallback still carries applicable carrier requirements, and consent and opt-out responsibilities remain on every channel.
Does SMS fallback avoid A2P registration?
No. SMS fallback remains subject to applicable carrier A2P requirements. Confirm requirements for the number and sending route; fallback after a confirmed failed iMessage is a workspace setting, and uncertain delivery is not automatically resent.
